Oh, and you rarely have the quarterbacking/alpha player problem with real-time games, which is awesome. Plus, real-time games are sometimes the best ones to have on hand when you want to get your friends into modern board games. Real-time games aren’t the types of board games that I’m going to recommend to everyone, but I do think it’s worth having at least one on your shelf for when you want an intense challenge that requires a lot of teamwork. It’s important that we’re all in the mood for some chaos, though. My group really enjoys playing real-time co-ops because they’re usually the most interactive board games. Some people love the tension that real-time games bring to the table, while others don’t like that kind of stress.
